Keeping Myself Busy

Journal Entry: Wed Jan 21, 2009, 10:37 AM

Learning & Being Picky

I haven't been posting as much as I thought I would last time I wrote a journal and announced my comeback. Still, I've been keeping myself busy with learning more about photography, digital art, and Photoshop. In addition I've gained a whole new level of knowledge regarding cameras, camera accesories, techniques, and specs. It's not that I haven't been taking any pictures since october '08, I'm just not pleased with much of my work.. and therefore I haven't submitted any. Looking away from the manip I posted earlier this evening. I also intend to post-process pictures from a shoot at the railway-station nearby, and hopefully get them up within the next hour or so.

On the other hand I've been much more active as a "silent" member, checking out other peoples art much more than I used to, and gaining a lot of inspiration from it. There are so many great artists out there!

Returning & Rearranging

Changes

Today I've been hanging around DeviantART for hours getting my gallery and site in general together. I didn't realise until today how incredibly messy and out-of-date it were, and how I've been slacking with keeping track of events and the steady income of new deviations. It seems my interest or ability to engage myself properly disappeared along with my subscription in June, but as my work has gotten better and my eagerness grown again, I figured it was about time for a big cleanup and a proper comeback.

First of all: A LOT of old deviations from my gallery has been removed. Most of them for good, but some of them has been taken down for newer revision as I've recovered a lot of lost photos during the day. Second I've made categories in the gallery, so that it'll be a piece of cake if you just want to view a certain kind of pictures. I.e skyscapes or macros. The journal has also undergone a major makeover as I've discovered the magic of CCS, and awoken my interest in HTML and coding at the same time. As a third on my list I've gone through my watchlist and removed artists who are no longer active, and haven't been for almost a year or so.

To some more news! I've submitted a picture available for purchase, as I've finally understood how the print-system works! Note that any picture I put up for sale have been and will be shot in .raw and have a minimum of 300dpi. This makes sure that the quality of the product will be as good as possible. Eventually I'll probably upgrade to a premium account, but I want to be sure I get it all right first.

So.. I hope those of you who still watch me and read this haven't "given up" on me yet, and that newcomers hopefully enjoy what they find! As I'm not going to university this year, I'll be working more actively with my photography, with my first job upcoming sunday. I'll be off taking pictures of a limousine (I even think it's an american one), and they will be used in a commercial brochure/pamphlet for a recently assembled wedding-service. Really looking forward to it! I also think I'll be off on a trip to Larvik shortly, but I haven't gotten around to arrange it all yet.

In other words there's more to come, and I'm awaiting it with a smile on my face and great anticipation. All comments and favourites on my work will be greatly appreciated! Thumbs can be found underneath. I'll also start featuring artists I stumble upon, and update thumbs with new prints as they become available.

Hope you all are doing great too!

[ New submissions! A must see! ]

I don`t have the time to put out thumbnails right now, but I`ve uploaded six new pictures today. The series "Soul Meets Body" and "Animate Inanimate", and then a portrait of my classmate Steffen. The baby shots and the still life pictures (that are actually not very still after all) are my first shots in those genres, and I`m really pleased with how they turned out, so I hope you`ll take a look, and maybe even some time to comment.

It's been awhile and I know that seems to happen alot, but school and work takes up most of my sparetime. Lately I've been into some huge assignments, and one of them is still going and should be done by the end of this week.. So much stress, but you just got to hang in there and give it your best. Even though I've been photographing more than ever lately, I rarely consider my pictures "qualified" for my DA gallery. It's really strange, 'cause I feel I'm getting better at what I do with every shot.

I've still managed to upload some pictures. One from the summer, and two from last week:

Hope you like them. Comments are appreciated!

It's been awhile, but I'm officially back!

I've updated my hardware with a brand new Canon EOS 400D that I got for my 18th birthday, and I'm generally more motivated to work with art than I've been in a long time. These days I'm enjoying my summer vacation with my boyfriend, and we spend most of our days in front of the computer or outside in the woods. I also survived Roskilde'07, and will soon be heading off to Seljord.

And so I've also updated my gallery with some new work, and some new revision of older pictures. Comments and advice will be greatly appreciated! Here are some previews:

I hope everyone's OK! And thanks in advance.
